Highlight, remember, return.
Highlight Notes Free lets you save selected text, attach notes and revisit everything in a searchable library.
How to save a highlight
- Select text on a webpage.
- Choose the floating Highlight button, right click and select Highlight with Highlight Notes, or use Command + Shift + H on Mac and Control + Shift + H elsewhere.
- Choose a colour, add an optional note and save. Command + S also saves the note dialog.
Built for modern web applications
Gmail thread addresses are recognized so highlights from different views of the same conversation stay together. The extension also includes specific handling for dynamic pages such as ChatGPT and GitHub. A highlight with a note is visually underlined so you can distinguish it from a highlight without a note.
Your library and backups
Click the extension icon to open the library. Highlights are grouped by webpage, searchable and filterable by colour. You can export HTML for easy reading or JSON for a restorable backup.
Optional Raindrop sync
Add your own Raindrop personal test token in Settings to send saved webpages and highlights to your Raindrop account. This is one way sync. Highlight Notes remains the master copy. Raindrop may require its Pro plan for notes attached to individual highlights.
Highlight Notes Pro, coming soon
Encrypted cloud sync and an iPhone friendly library are planned at about US$0.99 per month if there is enough interest. Email rochak10@gmail.com to register interest.
Optional US$1 development tips can be sent through PayPal to rochak10@gmail.com. A tip does not purchase, reserve or unlock Pro.
